DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF AIRLINES’ CEO
The CEO is the “Accountable Manager”, as required by Company.
The Accountable Manager has the corporate authority for ensuring that all operations and maintenance activities are financed and performed to the standard required by the Authority and any additional requirements as defined by the Company.
His main duties and responsibilities are to:
Otherwise, The CEO acting on the directives and agreed policies of Company’s Board of Directors, shall oversee the management of airline operations its associated administrative and supporting activities to include Maintenance Systems, Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Marketing, Finance and Corporate Communications. As the “Accountable Manager”, he shall see to the realization of sound infrastructures in support of the aforesaid areas, are in conformance to the State’s laid out regulatory requirements. He shall also be responsible in assigning appropriately qualified Key Officers to specific areas ensuring their competencies match that of the accountabilities of the said area.

- Provide necessary resources to other Postholders to perform their tasks for which they are responsible;
- Compile and review the financial budget ensuring its effectiveness, monitoring performance and achievement and provide adequate cost control throughout theCompany;
- Establish the Company formal written quality and safety policy statement defining the intent of the quality system and his commitment to it;
- Nominate Postholders, Quality Assurance Manager, Safety and Security Manager and to guarantee their direct access to him;
- Continuously assess quality; ensuring adequacies in operating standards,procedures and facilities are at all times consistent with current industry practice.
- Ensure effective communication and co-ordination with relevant Government agencies in the continuous assessment of airports and associated facilities meet the targeted standards and procedures of flying operations.
- Ensure the implementation of effective Flight Safety programs which are periodically evaluated in terms of its effectivity and adequacy;
- Ensure that up-to-date knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and procedures governing aircraft operations known to key airline personnel satisfy all laid out regulatory requirements;
- Ensure and review that the necessary finance, manpower and resources are available to enable the Company to perform its scheduled and ad hoc commitments;
- Ensure that the airlines infrastructure involving the number of personnel, suitable facilities along with supporting hardware and software are appropriate in meeting the requirements of the Air Operator Certificate;
- Maintain reporting links to the Company's Quality Assurance Manager, and Safety and Security Manager, ensuring prompt closure of quality audit non-conformances and the adoption of safety management practices.
