DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHIEF PILOT FLIGHT SAFETY (CPFS)

The Chief Pilot Flight Safety (CPFS) ensures company compliance and strict observations of all regulations, standards and procedures and to conduct research and development on flight safety matters as well as to investigate accidents/incidents involving Company’s aircraft or personnel with the aim of accident prevention or avoiding recurrence.

His functions, duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Study accidents/incidents, generate reports on lesson learned for crew knowledge enhancement with the aim at increasing safety awareness and efficiency;
• Conduct research and development on flight safety matters with the aim to enhance flight safety as well as increasing the efficiency of flight safety processes;
• Monitor the Aircraft Flight Operational Quality Audit (FOQA) programme;
• Analyze the Aircraft FOQA data, identify hazardous trends in operations and take timely corrective action;
• Monitor and review the effectiveness of corrective strategies;
• Investigate accidents/incidents involving Company’s aircraft or personnel with the aim of accidents/incidents prevention and/or avoiding recurrence;
• Attend to incident or any other safety related reports;
• Conduct Technical and Non-Technical investigation of any aviation safety related event, when required;
• Investigate aircraft incidents and accidents, and recommend corrective and preventive measures and ensure compliance as and when necessary;
• Conduct periodic operational safety audits on en-route, ramp and facilities operated by The Company to ensure safety standards are being maintained and continually exercised, when necessary;
• Evaluate current practices and recommend new procedures and method to improve standards;
• Attend Safety Management Meeting (SMM) and Safety Review Board Meeting (SRB) and other meetings as required; and
• To conduct any other duties as and when required by the Director of Safety.
