FLIGHT SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS
Flight Safety is enhanced by effective communications, within both the airline, and the wider aviation field. The ability to learn from the experiences of manufacturers and airlines cannot be over emphasized. The Company will ensure that the collection and dissemination of relevant data is given a high priority within the Company.

Terms of Reference for SRB
Should there be a need of an intermediate meeting before a SRB is due, the Director of Safety can call for a Safety Management Meeting (SMM) with the senior and relevant line managers as required.
Safety Action Group (SAG)
Once a strategic direction has been developed by the SRB, concerted implementation of strategies across the organization must take place, in a coordinated manner. This is the primary role of the Safety Action Group (SAG).
SAG is a high-level committee, composed of line managers and representatives of front-line personnel, and chaired in turn by designated line managers.
The safety manager is the secretary of the SAG.
The SAG is eminently tactical and deals with implementation issues to satisfy the strategic directives of the SRB.
SAG meeting are held monthly or as required by the Director of Safety.
SAG meetings can also be held when there is a need to review safety related matters, such as: investigation report, update of policies, procedures and etc.
This will be achieved as follows:
- Collation and dissemination of manufacturers’ safety information (by way of Flight Operations Circular (FOC) – Flight Safety, or Brief);
- Participation in Industry Flight Safety Seminars;
- The production of a Flight Safety Newsletter at least biannually;
- Notify the Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia of all accidents / incidents at the earliest possible time through the Director of Flight Operations; and
- Prompt responses to Safety Reports and other hazard or deficiency reports.
The permanent members of the Safety Review Board are:
- Chief Executive Officer;
- Director of Flight Operations;
- Head of Engineering;
- Director of Safety;
- Chief Pilot Operations;
- Chief Pilot Flight Safety;
- Ground Safety/ERP Manager;
- Ramp Operations Manager;
- Administrator Flight Safety; and
- FDA personnel
Terms of Reference for SRB
- Monitors the effectiveness of the SMS implementation plan;
- Monitor and review policy, objectives and procedures as part of development of SMS ;
- Make recommendations or decisions concerning safety policy and objectives;
- Monitors that any necessary corrective action is taken in a timely manner;
- Review activities that require formal application of risk management techniques;
- Review actions recommended by incident/accident investigations are monitored, tracked and implemented by relevant departmental managers;
- Monitors safety performance against the organization’s safety policy and objectives;
- Review safety performance and outcomes;
- Define safety performance indicators and set safety performance goals for the organization;
- Monitors the effectiveness of the organization’s safety management processes which support the declared corporate priority of safety management as another core business process;
- Monitors the effectiveness of the safety supervision of subcontracted operations;
- Ensures that appropriate resources are allocated to achieve safety performance beyond that required by regulatory compliance;
- Provide strategic directions to departmental Safety Action Groups (SAG) where applicable;
- Function as steering committee and oversight for Flight Data Monitoring Team; and
- Periodically review regulations, standards and exemptions for ensuring the most current information is available.
